Mastercard, one of the world’s largest payment services providers, is launching a Web3-focused incubator to help artists communicate with their fans through a new medium. It will also help musicians build, develop and manage their brands in Web3. Participants in the music scene get educated about the possibilities that the technologies of Web3 have to offer.
Mastercard has collaborated with Polygon, an Ethereum-based blockchain, on this. An accelerator program has been announced, offering support in the digital economy.
In total, five emerging musicians from all over the world will have the opportunity to make contacts to further expand their brand. By joining the incubator, the artists will learn how to shape NFTs, present themselves in virtual worlds and build a community.
For those who were not selected for the program, there is a consolation prize, so to speak. Mastercard is launching a collection of NFTs called “Mastercard Music Pass” to distribute educational materials for aspiring musicians via web3 integration and provide brand collaborations.
Polygon has already entered into many other collaborations to grow Web3. Recently, the company announced a joint project with Warner Music Group. They are releasing a Web3 music platform called LGND Music which should be available later this month. Users can stream music and collect and trade music NFTs.
